Blogger Book Fair Spotlight- Riverbend by Andrea Goodson

Nestled deep in Northwest Pennsylvania, in the thick forest of the Allegheny Mountains, is a quiet community named Kennerdell. Rich in Native American and European settlement history with few inhabitants and a charming culture, growing up there was simple for Lena.

But when grief stepped in and darkened her life- everything changed.

After years of escape, Lena is forced to come home. A web of mystery and danger that dates back to America's earliest days, quickly weaves around her,

When a longtime friend, one who knows the tragedy that plagues Lena's heart, comes back into her life- things get complicated.

Will she be able to unfold the truth around this mystery-and herself-or will it be easier to run away?

Love, danger, and history collide in Riverbend, thefirst book of The Riverbend Trilogy.

All three books in the trilogy are now available on Amazon:

Meet the author:

Andrea Goodson was born in 1982 and had a love of and fascination with writing since she was very young. Always imagining ways in which the world could be different, she began to write short stories when she was very young. It wasn't until many years later that she put pen to paper and began to work on what has become her first novel, Riverbend, part one in a trilogy. Upon completion of that work, she found that writing was something she felt meant to do and would never be able to give up. Using her own experiences with hardship and tragedy, Andrea uses her writing to reach others in an effort to show the world that we need not be victims or circumstance. Her main characters endure many conflicts yet find the courage and strength to better themselves.

Blogger Book Fair Spotlight-Psyched by Juli Caldwell

You can find it on Amazon, Smashwords, and in paperback at CreateSpace!

So far, great reviews for Psyched!

"This is one of those books you just can't put down. What I
love about Psyched in addition to a great, spooky story is strong characters
and narrative voice. Aisi is the most awesome chick, strong-willed, sassy, and
deals with some crazy stuff happening with a spunkiness that I loved...
Psyched is well-written, riveting,
surprising and genre-busting. Teens will love this book, but it definitely has
a more wide-ranging appeal
."

and...

"Aisi Turay is one awesome girl. She
has power to see the dead...as in their souls...This is a great read, filled
with suspense. I NEVER knew from one chapter to the next what was happening. It
is well written and a very enjoyable...and a bit scary!
"

Psyched is part ghost story, part suspense, part demon-hunting thriller, part budding romance. It's the story of a girl named Aisi who's doing her best to keep it together for her wreck of a family. She is smart, sassy, and sarcastic enough to keep things interesting. When she meets Vance on the single worst day of her life, she finds a guy who just might be the first person ever to get her, to believe in her, and to out-random her with bizarre observations at the worst possible moment. There's just something about him that she knows she can trust.

Together, Aisi and Vance wander through the memories of others to unlock the secrets of her past while battling a demon who wants to ensure she never finds what she's looking for. Aisi vanquishes demons all the time, but Malus Indolus is too strong. And he has plans for her...and her family.

Psyched is Juli's second novel, the first as an indie writer, and her first experiment with her true love as a reader: paranormal fiction. Her debut novel Beyond Perfection is also available.

You can find Juli on Twitter, Facebook,  and her blog.

Juli was kind enough toshare an excerpt with us today:

“But as I said,” Father J continued, “you must know more. There are other pieces to this puzzle, and to understand how they fit together, we must go back.”
Aisi trembled. She didn’t want to cry, but she couldn’t handle it again. Those visions, seeing those horrible things. “I…can’t,” she replied, trying not to choke on her words.
Father J cast a glance at Vance. “He can see what you want him to see.”
Vance looked startled as the words sank into Aisi. “What do you mean, I can see?”
“Aisi can see whatever she wants, whenever she wants. Part of her gift—”
“Gift, curse, whatever,” she muttered, interrupting.
“Part of her gift,” Father J continued, his voice clear and firm, “is she can share what she wants. Just as she saw her father’s history by touching my hands, so too can you see what she sees by touching hers.”
Vance shook his head, surprised. He took a step back and ran his fingers through his hair, making the sandy brown strands stand on end. “Wow. But…why me? I mean, can anyone see what she sees if she wants?”
“Simply put, Vance, you believe. You believe in her. You are the first to see Aisi as she truly is, yet you do not fear. You have faith in a world people refuse to see, a realm they choose to fear. Such a thin veil separates us from the dead and from the savage unborn. You are not chosen; you chose yourself. Only those who believe in her and in themselves can see. As with everything we do in this life, we live with the consequences of what we choose to believe.”
Vance took a long look at Aisi, searching her face. She felt his eyes on her, saw him in her mind even though she refused to make eye contact. His mouth opened and closed, and he seemed to work up his courage as he asked, “Aisi? Do you want me to see what you can see?”
She looked up in surprise. That was so not what she expected. She thought freakishly intense ghost hunter boy would jump at the chance to use her abilities to look for ghosts or hunt down some demons. After he’d willingly let a demon take control of him, she was sure he’d take advantage of her to get an A+ on his stupid school project. Instead, he asked permission.

Sink or Swim Cover Reveal!!!!

Today I am so, so, so excited to share with you the absolutely gorgeous cover Regina Wamba of Mae I Design and Photography has created for Sink or Swim! What do you think???

There are some things you just can't walk away from.

When sleeping in vacant warehouses and dark alleys becomes preferable to living at home, something is seriously wrong. But when word reaches Allie that her mother is facing a life threatening illness, she has no choice but to return to the place of nightmares. Leaving wasn't a choice, it was a necessity, and if returning hadn't been equally necessary, Allie never would have set foot back inside that hell-hole.

Dean is no stranger to hardship, but the day Allie walked out of his life, taking his heart right along with her, was hands-down the most frustrating. Six months later, she's back and Dean refuses to rest until he figures out exactly what the hell happened.

Now, Allie's drowning. Drowning in lies. Drowning in the truth. Drowning in pain, and anger, and fear. But there comes a time when every drowning person must decide whether they will... Sink or Swim?

Love it as much as I do? Of course you do!
Want to know how to win a free copy? Of Course you do!
It's simple.
You'll see a pic of the cover pinned to the top. Share it to your page. And comment on mine to let me know you did.
For an extra entry, make it your profile pic for the day. Make sure to mention it in your comment.
That simple.
I'll choose a random winner from all the sharers on Monday!!! GOOD LUCK!

Now, on to some more goodies I have in store for you, my lovelies . . .

Up first, is a never before revealed teaser trailer for Sink or Swim. Made it myself so cut me a little slack. I'm an author, not an artist for a reason ;) Hope you enjoy it.
*Warning: Contains mature language*

Last but not least, I know e-books are the hot reads right now. Wave of the future, and all that, but I will always have a soft spot for a good old fashioned paperback. To help support the endangered species that it has become, I am offering an added incentive to anyone who purchases Sink or Swim in paperback format.
Want to know what it is? Of course you do.
What's up with all these dumb questions anyway?
But, I digress . . . If you buy a paperback copy of Sink or Swim and flip to the very end, you will find the first full chapter of Now or Never (Fight or Fight #2). And ladies, it's Jay's POV. Just sayin' you may not want to wait until the Fall to see this. ;)

Haven't read Fight or Flight yet? That's okay.
While Sink or Swim is a spin-off of that original book, it's not necessary to have read it first.
However . . . if you would like to, Fight or Flight will be on SALE for only 99 CENT Sun (7/21)-Mon (7/22) to celebrate the release of Sink or Swim. Grab your copy here and start at the very beginning.

Cover Reveal

Hey guys! Today I get the pleasure of sharing with all of you the gorgeous cover of Amber Garza's new book, Tripping Me Up.

I may not have special powers, but sometimes I think I'm invisible. No one in my high school seems to notice me at all. When they finally do it's because the popular Tripp Bauer accidently smacks me in the face with a wad of paper. Talk about humiliating.
Only now he keeps talking to me.
At first it was to apologize, and I figured once I forgave him he'd go away. But he doesn't, and now my feelings for him are starting to grow. And that scares me. Guys like Tripp Bauer don't fall for girls like me. Or do they?

Expected Release - August 2013

Jacobi McKenzie has lived in Crescent, Montana for more years than he can remember, even though he's only seventeen. He's been waiting, but for what he isn't sure. Jacobi recognizes Olivia for what she is before she's even aware of it herself and the effect she has on him threatens to expose his true identity--a thing he’s worked hard to conceal.
